Currently lives and works in London

Danying’s artistic practice is deeply influenced by her surroundings,  with her works delving into the intricate interplay among urbanisation, critical spatial practice and social resilience. Rather than being defined by a particular medium, many of her projects are linked by the idea of “makeshift”, drawing insights from the resourceful, adaptive, and occasionally precarious tactics people employ within their constrained environments. Her doctoral research foucses on the discourse of "pragmatist aesthetics" in the context of everyday ‘making do’ in Chinese urban villages.
